Celebrate Harvest

Every autumn, the fields remind us of God's faithfulness. The colours of harvest - gold, red, and orange - declare that our Creator provides. Harvest is more than an agricultural season; it is a spiritual reminder.

The psalmist says, "You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so" (Psalm 65:9, NLT).

Harvest reminds us that everything we have is a gift from God. The food on our tables, the jobs we work, the homes we live in, even the breath in our lungs - all flow from His generous hand. In a world that often takes and forgets to give thanks, harvest invites us to pause and remember.

But harvest also points us to a greater truth: Jesus said, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few" (Matthew 9:37, NLT). Just as farmers gather their crops, God calls His people to gather souls. Harvest is a time for gratitude, but it is also a call to mission. We are blessed not just to enjoy God's provision, but to share the good news of His love with others.

As you celebrate harvest this year - whether with a church display of fruit and vegetables, a meal with family, or a quiet prayer of thanks - remember two things:

1. Give thanks for God's daily provision.
2. Go and share the hope of Christ with someone who is hungry for peace, truth, and life.

Harvest is a season of joy because it reminds us of the greatest gift of all: Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, who satisfies the deepest hunger of the human soul.

So let's celebrate harvest not just with full baskets, but with full hearts - thankful, generous, and ready to be workers in God's field.
