Who Might Meet Jesus Because You Invited Them?

Have you ever felt that gentle nudge from the Holy Spirit to invite someone to church - only to silence it with a list of reasons why you shouldn't? You're not alone. Many of us hesitate, even though we know the eternal difference an invitation could make.

So, what stops us?

1. Fear of Rejection
We worry what people might think. "What if they say no?" "What if they think I'm weird?" But remember this: Jesus was rejected far more than we ever will be. He said, "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first" (John 15:18, NLT). The goal isn't to be accepted - it's to be faithful. One invitation could open the door for someone to experience the love of Christ.

2. Assuming They're Not Interested
We often decide for people without giving them the chance to decide for themselves. Yet, in a world full of pain and uncertainty, many are quietly searching for hope. Jesus said, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few" (Luke 10:2, NLT). The field around us is ready - your invitation might be the one thing someone is waiting for.

3. Forgetting What's at Stake
When we lose sight of eternity, our urgency fades. But heaven and hell are real. Jesus came "to seek and save those who are lost" (Luke 19:10, NLT). If we truly believe that, how can we stay silent? Inviting someone to church isn't about filling a seat - it's about introducing them to the Saviour who can change their life forever.

4. Thinking It's the Pastor's Job
It's easy to think evangelism belongs to "the professionals." But Jesus' command in Matthew 28:19 wasn't limited to pastors - it's for every disciple: "Go and make disciples of all the nations." Church isn't just a building; it's a community on mission. Each of us has a part to play.

A Loving Challenge
What if next Sunday, you prayed, "Lord, show me one person I can invite"? Then, step out in faith. You don't need a perfect speech - just a genuine heart. You never know what God might do through your obedience.

Someone's eternity could begin with your invitation.

"How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!" - Romans 10:15 (NLT)

Let's not let fear silence us. Let's be those who share the good news boldly and lovingly - because Jesus is still saving the lost, and He invites us to be part of His rescue mission.
