Colossians 1:27-28 (NLT): "For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing His glory. So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ."
There is a truth so profound, so life-altering, that when we fully grasp it, everything changes. It's not a hidden truth reserved for scholars or theologians. It's a secret that God wants known. And here it is:
Christ lives in you.
Not just beside you. Not merely watching over you. But in you.
The Apostle Paul calls this "the secret," the mystery that has now been revealed. This truth was once concealed from generations past, but through Jesus Christ, it is now made clear - not only to the Jewish people, but to Gentiles too. That means this promise isn't limited to a specific race or nation. It's for you. For me. For all who believe.
And what is the result of Christ living in us?
Hope. Not wishful thinking - but assurance. The unshakable confidence that we will share in His glory. This is not about earning a place in heaven through good works or religious effort. It's about being in Christ and having Christ in us.
It's a transformative union. His Spirit shapes our character, His power strengthens our weakness, and His presence assures our future.
Paul's response to this glorious truth wasn't passive. He proclaimed it. He taught it. He warned others, urging them to turn from empty religion and self-effort to the living Christ. And his goal? That every person would be presented to God, perfect - that is, mature, complete, whole - in Christ.
Friend, this isn't just theology. This is personal. Christ in you means that no matter how broken you feel, how far you've strayed, or how dark the night seems - hope remains.
You are not abandoned. You are not forgotten. You are not powerless.
Christ lives in you. And because of that, glory awaits.
So today, walk in that hope. Let His life shape yours. And share this glorious secret - because someone else desperately needs to know that they, too, can find life, hope, and glory in Jesus.
If Christ is not yet living in you, the invitation is open. Turn to Him, trust Him, and receive the gift of eternal life. The hope of glory awaits - and His name is Jesus.
